<official-title>To provide additional exemptions from the community service requirement for a resident of a public housing project.</official-title>

<section id="HD8FEE949404C4CFF8CB562B0A624D1FD" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Community service requirement</header> 
<subsection id="HCF47633255094FAFB8601795842BCC2"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Community service requirement</header><text>Section 12(c)(2) of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1437j">42 U.S.C. 1437j(c)(2)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H5702025C57554298B5480937CB3C6B40"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraph (A) by striking <quote>62</quote> and inserting <quote>60</quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H4C2100F32A7A48A5BD485C04036368A4"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">at the end of subparagraph (D) by striking <quote>or</quote>;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H9FA75622DC564D2DB804505299F00966"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">at the end of subparagraph (E) by striking the period and inserting a semicolon; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3FEF3573BB79468880F700BB006B9837"><enum>(4)</enum><text>by adding after subparagraph (E) the following new subparagraphs:</text>

<subparagraph id="HB96B2EE4E99746CAAF20938D92717563"><enum>(F)</enum><text>is in her third trimester of pregnancy;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H0C5DE7D746674EEF9B2683D3D0A8B71F"><enum>(G)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is a parent or guardian of a child under the age of 5 and resides with the child;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H78E1A86D0A5847D2A3D9D66FC3408512"><enum>(H)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">has reported being the victim of domestic violence (as such term is defined in section 2003 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/3796gg-2">42 U.S.C. 3796gg–2</external-xref>)) to a local law enforcement agency on at least one occasion during the previous 12 months and such agency has not found that the individual’s report is without merit;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HE2515421FB6742BA905D7F7D60CD0092"><enum>(I)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is unemployed and resides with a child under the age of 14 and the individual’s spouse, who is employed full-time;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HEB120EAFC8194633BD13862C2C11B52F"><enum>(J)</enum><text>provides more than 20 hours per week of unpaid childcare to a child with respect to whom the individual is not a parent or guardian; or</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H3EB9609A441A469DA47CCEC18DF7E23"><enum>(K)</enum><text>is eligible to receive food stamps pursuant to the Food Stamp Act of 1977 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/7/2011">7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.</external-xref>).</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></paragraph> </subsection></section>
