<official-title>To amend section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 to make unlawful the importation, sale for importation, or sale within the United States after importation, of articles falsely labeled or advertised as meeting a United States Government or industry standard for performance or safety.</official-title>

<section id="H78E204CE0A3940ABA418DBFD00FDFCCB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Amendment to section 337 of Tariff Act of 1930</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 337(a)(1) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/19/1337">19 U.S.C. 1337(a)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H0DC8331736C74971B700AF428554E663"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph (A), by striking <quote>and (E)</quote> and inserting <quote>(E), and (F)</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3AB25E57FA3E4B3BA723E6FE0014C673"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subparagraph id="HC740D848353C44DF89627C13F42E815F"><enum>(F)</enum><text>The importation into the United States, the sale for importation, or the sale within the United States after importation by the owner, importer, or consignee, of articles that are labeled or advertised as meeting a United States Government standard for performance or safety, or an industry standard for performance or safety, but do not in fact meet that standard.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </paragraph></section>
