<section id="H11D1330BB734405FAA6854E497BC81FF" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Mitigation planning</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 322 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5165">42 U.S.C. 5165</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="H308DA5B2FE9E492686608EA3588EF4FB"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Eligibility of beach nourishment projects</header><text>Beach nourishment projects that meet such standards as the Secretary of the Army may establish shall be eligible for inclusion in a mitigation plan as an action to mitigate hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities identified under a mitigation plan developed under this section.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section> 
<section id="HE8109A2E93DC437EAD3640BA7D00B448"><enum>2.</enum><header>Hazard mitigation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/5170c">42 U.S.C. 5170c</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

<subsection id="H87486B6B69384CEFB9D92BAAA5823B69"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Eligibility of beach nourishment projects</header><text>Beach nourishment projects that meet such standards as the Secretary of the Army may establish shall be treated for purposes of this section as hazard mitigation measures which are cost effective and substantially reduce the risk of future damage, hardship, loss or suffering in an area affected by a major disaster and shall be eligible for assistance under this section.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block> </section>
