Mr. Thomas introduced the following bill; which was read twice and
referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation

A BILL
To prohibit commercial air tour operations over Yellowstone National
Park and Grand Teton National Park.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Yellowstone and Teton Scenic
Overflight Exclusion Act of 2001''.
SEC. 2. PROHIBITION OF COMMERCIAL AIR TOUR OPERATIONS OVER YELLOWSTONE
NATIONAL PARK AND GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK.
Section 40128(e) of title 49, United States Code, is amended--
(1) by striking ``(e) Lake Mead.--'' and inserting the
following: ``(e) Certain Parks.--
``(1) Lake mead.--''; and
(2) by adding at the end the following:
``(2) Yellowstone, grand teton.--Notwithstanding any other
provision of this Act, effective beginning on the date of
enactment of this paragraph, no commercial air tour operation
may be conducted in the airspace over, or within 1 mile of the
boundary of, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National
Park.''.
