To require the United States Trade Representative to keep the House of 
  Representatives Committee on Resources and the Senate Committee on 
    Commerce, Science, and Transportation informed with respect to 
           negotiations and agreements on fish and shellfish.

  Mrs. Snowe introduced the following bill; which was read twice and 
                  referred to the Committee on Finance

                                 A BILL


 
To require the United States Trade Representative to keep the House of 
  Representatives Committee on Resources and the Senate Committee on 
    Commerce, Science, and Transportation informed with respect to 
           negotiations and agreements on fish and shellfish.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. USTR TO KEEP CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES INFORMED ABOUT FISH 
              AND SHELLFISH NEGOTIATIONS.

    In any international negotiation relating to fish or shellfish, and 
before signing any international agreement relating thereto, the United 
States Trade Representative shall consult closely and on a timely basis 
with the House of Representatives Committee on Resources and the Senate 
Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
