AN ACT
To waive certain limitations in the case of use of the emergency fund
authorized by section 125 of title 23, United States Code, to pay the
costs of projects in response to the attack on the World Trade Center
in New York City that occurred on September 11, 2001.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXPENDITURES FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF IN RESPONSE TO TERRORIST
ATTACK.
In the case of use of the emergency fund authorized by section 125
of title 23, United States Code, to pay the costs of projects in
response to the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City that
occurred on September 11, 2001--
(1) notwithstanding section 120(e) of that title, the
Federal share of the cost of each such project shall be 100
percent; and
(2) notwithstanding section 125(d)(1) of that title, the
Secretary of Transportation may obligate more than $100,000,000
for those projects.
