AN ACT
To extend the period of availability of unemployment assistance under
the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act in
the case of victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXTENSION OF UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE.
Notwithstanding section 410(a) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster
Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5177(a)), in the case of
any individual eligible to receive unemployment assistance under
section 410(a) of that Act as a result of the terrorist attacks of
September 11, 2001, the President shall make such assistance available
for 52 weeks after the major disaster is declared.
