feasibility of including certain lands along the southeastern coast of 
               Maui, Hawaii, in the National Park System.

                     to the Committee on Resources

                                 A BILL


 
 To direct the Secretary of the Interior to study the suitability and 
feasibility of including certain lands along the southeastern coast of 
               Maui, Hawaii, in the National Park System.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. STUDY.

    (a) In General.--Not later than 18 months after funds are made 
available for this section, the Secretary of the Interior shall 
complete a study, pursuant to the criteria set forth in paragraphs (2) 
and (3) of section 8(c) of Public Law 91-383 (16 U.S.C. 1a-5(c) (2) and 
(3); commonly known as the National Park System General Authorities 
Act), of the suitability and feasibility of including the certain lands 
located on the southeastern coast of Maui, Hawaii, in the National Park 
System. The study area shall extend generally from Keone'o'io to 
Kanaloa Point.
    (b) Submission to Congress.--Upon completion of the study, the 
Secretary shall submit the findings of the study to the Committee on 
Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy 
and Natural Resources of the Senate.
