A BILL
To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to acquire the property
known as Pemberton's Headquarters and to modify the boundary of
Vicksburg National Military Park to include that property, and for
other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the ``Vicksburg National Military Park
Boundary Modification Act''.
SEC. 2. ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY.
The Secretary of the Interior may acquire, with the consent of the
owners, by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or
exchange, the following:
(1) Pemberton's headquarters.--The property known as
Pemberton's Headquarters, as generally depicted on the map
entitled ``Boundary Map, Pemberton's Headquarters at Vicksburg
National Military Park'', numbered 306/80015A, and dated August
2001.
(2) Parking and other facilities.--Not more than 1 acre of
land or interest in land abutting or near the property
described in paragraph 1 for the purpose of providing parking
and other facilities related to operating Pemberton's
Headquarters as a visitor site.
SEC. 3. MODIFICATION OF BOUNDARY; ADMINISTRATION.
Upon the acquisition of property under section 2--
(1) the boundary of Vicksburg National Military Park shall
be modified to include the acquired property; and
(2) the Secretary of the Interior shall administer the
acquired property as part of Vicksburg National Military Park
in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
SEC. 4. MAP ON FILE.
The map referred to in section 2(1) shall be on file in the
appropriate offices of the National Park Service of the Department of
the Interior.
