            referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce

                            JOINT RESOLUTION


 
Expressing Congressional disapproval of a rule issued by the Department 
               of Energy with respect to clothes washers.

    Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United 
States of America in Congress assembled, That Congress disapproves the 
rule submitted by the Secretary of Energy relating to clothes washers 
(66 Fed. Reg. 3314; January 12, 2001), and such rule shall have no 
force or effect.
