 To amend the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 to 
require the release of relevant information to protect the public from 
                      sexually violent offenders.
    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as ``Megan's Law''.

SEC. 2. RELEASE OF INFORMATION.

    Section 170101(d)(3) of the Violent Crime Control and Law 
Enforcement Act of 1994 (42 U.S.C. 14071(d)(3)) is amended by striking 
``may'' and inserting ``shall''.
