 To amend chapter 1 of title 17, United States Code, to include in the 
     definition of a cable system a facility which makes secondary 
       transmissions by microwave or certain other technologies.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

    This Act may be cited as the ``Compulsory License Clarification Act 
of 1993''.

SEC. 2. INCLUSION OF FACILITIES MAKING SECONDARY TRANSMISSIONS BY 
              MICROWAVE OR OTHER TECHNOLOGIES IN DEFINITION OF CABLE 
              SYSTEM.

    Section 111(f) of title 17, United States Code, is amended in the 
3rd paragraph by striking ``or other communications channels'' and 
inserting ``microwave, or any other technologies employed for the local 
distribution of secondary transmissions of broadcast programming''.
