  Mr. Pete Geren of Texas introduced the following joint resolution; 
  which was referred to the Committee on Post Office and Civil Service

                            JOINT RESOLUTION


 
  To designate October 1994 as ``National Decorative Painting Month''.

Whereas decorative painters preserve and continue the ancient discipline of 
        decorative painting; and
Whereas decorative painters engage in numerous worthwhile philanthropic 
        activities in communities across the United States: Now, therefore, be 
        it
    Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United 
States of America in Congress assembled, That October 1994 is 
designated as ``National Decorative Painting Month'', and the President 
of the United States is authorized and requested to issue a 
proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe 
such week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
