<section id="d503e94" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserves Tuition Fairness Act of 2025</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d503e104" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS DISAPPROVAL OF COURSES OFFERED BY PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING THAT DO NOT CHARGE VETERANS IN-STATE TUITION RATE FOR PURPOSES OF SELECTED RESERVE EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y05d5a0ea-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Subsection (c) of <ref href="/us/usc/t38/s3679">section 3679 of title 38, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5a0eb-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in paragraph (1), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, or chapter 1606 of title 10,</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>chapter 30, 31, 33, or 35 of this title</quotedText>”;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5a0ec-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>in paragraph (2), by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new subparagraph:<quotedContent><subparagraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="y05d5a0ed-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="E">“(E) </num><content>An individual who is entitled to assistance under section 16131 of title 10.”</content></subparagraph>

<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5c7fe-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/a/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>in paragraph (6), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, or chapter 1606 of title 10</quotedText>” before the period at the end.</content></paragraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y05d5c7ff-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Conforming Amendments</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Subsection (e) of such section <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5c800-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau>in paragraph (1)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5c801-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/b/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>in subparagraph (A), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, or chapter 1606 of title 10,</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>chapter 31, 33, or 35 of this title</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y05d5c802-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/b/1/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>in subparagraph (B), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>chapter 31 33, or 35 of this title</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>chapter 31, 33, or 35 of this title, or chapter 1606 of title 10</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y05d5c804-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/119/55/s2/c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x05d5c805-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Applicability.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x05d5c806-e4c2-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t38/s3679">38 USC 3679 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">Effective Date</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act and<page identifier="/us/stat/139/708">139 STAT. 708</page>
 shall apply with respect to an academic period that begins on or after August 1, 2026.</content></subsection>
