<section id="d203e90" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d63856-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"> <?GPOvSpace -03?></p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d63857-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t16/s410kkkk">16 USC 410kkkk note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d203e108" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d65f68-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t16/s410kkkk">16 USC 410kkkk note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SALEM MARITIME NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y91d68679-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s2/a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">Redesignation<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><content>The Salem Maritime National Historic Site shall hereafter be known and designated as the “Salem Maritime National Historical Park”.</content></subsection><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y91d6ad8a-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s2/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">References in Law<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><content>Any reference to the Salem Maritime National Historic Site in any law, regulation, map, document, record, or other paper of the United States shall be deemed to be a reference to the Salem Maritime National Historical Park.</content></subsection></section>
<section id="d203e134" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading>BOUNDARY STUDY.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y91d797eb-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d797ec-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Evaluation.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The Secretary shall conduct a boundary study to evaluate the suitability and feasibility of including in the National Park System, as part of the Salem Maritime National Historical Park (as redesignated by section 2(a)), sites and resources in the study area associated with the study area’s—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d797ed-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>maritime history;</content></paragraph><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d797ee-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>coastal defenses; and</content></paragraph><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d797ef-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/a/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>military history, including National Guard and militia activity.</content></paragraph></subsection><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y91d797f0-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">Report<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><chapeau>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to conduct the study required under subsection (a), the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d7bf01-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>the results of the study; and</content></paragraph><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d7bf02-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/b/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d7bf03-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Recommenda-</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x91d7bf04-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">tions.</p></sidenote>any findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the Secretary.</content></paragraph></subsection><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y91d7bf05-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">Definitions<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><chapeau>In this section:</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d7bf06-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/c/1" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">Secretary<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><content>The term “<term>Secretary</term>” means the Secretary of the Interior.<page identifier="/us/stat/139/409">139 STAT. 409</page></content></paragraph><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y91d7bf07-67cc-11f0-8b88-ddfae940159d" identifier="/us/pl/119/25/s3/c/2" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><heading class="fontsize10 smallCaps">Study area<inline class="noSmallCaps">.—</inline></heading><content>The term “<term>study area</term>” means Salem, Massachusetts, and its vicinity, and includes the Salem Armory Visitor Center building and adjacent Salem Armory Park.</content></paragraph></subsection></section>
