<section id="d26914e85" identifier="/us/pl/118/151/s1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x1438740b-e810-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Patents and trademarks.</p></sidenote><heading>GOOD FAITH EXCEPTION TO THE IMPOSITION OF CERTAIN FINES.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="x1438740c-e810-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  <ref href="/us/usc/t35">Title 35, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y1438740d-e810-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/118/151/s1/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in section 41(j), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, unless the entity shows that the assertion was made in good faith,</quotedText>” before “<quotedText>be subject</quotedText>”; and</content></paragraph>
