<section id="d52276e85" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>ROLE OF DOCTORS OF PODIATRIC MEDICINE IN DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yf596212c-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Clarification of Role</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><ref href="/us/usc/t38/s7306">Section 7306 of title 38, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yf596212d-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau>in subsection (a)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yf596212e-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>in paragraph (6), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>a Director of Podiatric Service,</quotedText>”;</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yf596212f-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a/1/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="redesignate">redesignating</amendingAction> paragraph (10) as paragraph (11); and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yf5962130-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a/1/C" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">(C) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> after paragraph (9) the following new paragraph:<quotedContent><paragraph class="indentDown1 fontsize10" id="yf5962131-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="10">“(10) </num><content>A Podiatric Medical Director, who shall be a qualified doctor of podiatric medicine and who shall be responsible to the Under Secretary for Health for the operation of the Podiatric Service.”</content></paragraph>

<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yf5962133-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/a/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>in subsection (c), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>and (8)</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>(8), and (10)</quotedText>”.</content></paragraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yf5962134-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Clarification of Pay Grade</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><ref href="/us/usc/t38/s7404">Section 7404 of title 38, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yf5962135-e811-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/117/96/s1/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in subsection (a)(2), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, podiatrists,</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>physicians</quotedText>”; and<page identifier="/us/stat/136/35">136 STAT. 35</page></content></paragraph>
