<section id="d52012e92" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Repealing Existing Substandard Provisions Encouraging Conciliation with Tribes Act</shortTitle>” or the “<shortTitle role="act">RESPECT Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d52012e105" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>REPEAL OF CERTAIN OBSOLETE LAWS RELATING TO INDIANS.</heading><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d1d-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>Section 2080 of the Revised Statutes (<ref href="/us/usc/t25/s72">25 U.S.C. 72</ref>) is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d1e-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/2" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>Section 2100 of the Revised Statutes (<ref href="/us/usc/t25/s127">25 U.S.C. 127</ref>) is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d1f-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/3" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>Section 2 of the Act of March 3, 1875 (<ref href="/us/stat/18/449/ch132">18 Stat. 449, chapter 132</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t25/s128">25 U.S.C. 128</ref>), is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d20-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/4" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">(4) </num><content>The first section of the Act of March 3, 1875 (<ref href="/us/stat/18/424/ch132">18 Stat. 424, chapter 132</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t25/s129">25 U.S.C. 129</ref>), <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> under the heading “<headingText>CHEYENNES AND ARAPAHOES.</headingText>” by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>; that the Secretary of the Interior be authorized to withhold, from any tribe of Indians who may hold any captives other than Indians, any moneys due them from the United States until said captives shall be surrendered to the lawful authorities of the United States</quotedText>”.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d21-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/5" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="5">(5) </num><content>Section 2087 of the Revised Statutes (<ref href="/us/usc/t25/s130">25 U.S.C. 130</ref>) is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d22-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/6" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="6">(6) </num><content>Section 3 of the Act of March 3, 1875 (<ref href="/us/stat/18/449/ch132">18 Stat. 449, chapter 132</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t25/s137">25 U.S.C. 137</ref>), is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d23-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/7" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="7">(7) </num><content>Section 2101 of the Revised Statutes (<ref href="/us/usc/t25/s138">25 U.S.C. 138</ref>) is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d24-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/8" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="8">(8) </num><content>Section 7 of the Act of June 23, 1879 (<ref href="/us/stat/21/35/ch35">21 Stat. 35, chapter 35</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t25/s273">25 U.S.C. 273</ref>), is <amendingAction type="repeal">repealed</amendingAction>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d25-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/9" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="9">(9) </num><chapeau>The first section of the Act of March 3, 1893 (<ref href="/us/stat/27/612/ch209">27 Stat. 612, chapter 209</ref>), <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="ya2f83d26-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/317/s2/9/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>under the heading “<headingText>MISCELLANEOUS SUPPORTS.</headingText>” (<ref href="/us/stat/27/628">27 Stat. 628</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t25/s283">25 U.S.C. 283</ref>), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> the last 2 undesignated paragraphs; and</content></subparagraph>
