<section id="d52135e92" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">VAWA Technical Amendment Act of 2022</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d52135e102" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>GRANTS TO COMBAT VIOLENT CRIMES.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yabed0651-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Amendment</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Section 2001(d) of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (<ref href="/us/usc/t34/s10441/d">34 U.S.C. 10441(d)</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yabed0652-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau>in paragraph (1)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yabed0653-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/a/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>in subparagraph (A), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>or Native Hawaiian</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>Indian</quotedText>”;</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yabed0654-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/a/1/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>in subparagarph (B), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>or Native Hawaiian</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>Indian</quotedText>”;</content></subparagraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yabed2d70-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Technical and Conforming Amendment</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Section 40002(a)(42) of the Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (<ref href="/us/usc/t34/s12291/a/42">34 U.S.C. 12291(a)(42)</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yabed2d71-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau>in subparagraph (A)—¨136STAT. 4405­</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yabed2d72-e815-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/315/s2/b/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, Native Hawaiian organizations, or the Native Hawaiian community</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>Indian service providers</quotedText>”;</content></subparagraph>
