<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d53805e85" identifier="/us/pl/117/29/s1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>DESIGNATION OF PERIODS DURING WHICH ANY INDIVIDUAL MAY DISPOSE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES MEDICATIONS AT FACILITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="x90889508-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  Section 3009 of the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 (<ref href="/us/pl/116/315">Public Law 116–315</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t38/s8110">38 U.S.C. 8110 note</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y9088bc19-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/29/s1/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="redesignate">redesignating</amendingAction> subsection (b) and (c) as subsections (c) and (d), respectively; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y9088bc1a-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/117/29/s1/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> after subsection (a) the following new subsection (b):<quotedContent><subsection class="indentDown1 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y9088bc1b-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">“(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Designation of Periods for Any Individual to Dispose of Medication</inline>.—</heading><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y9088bc1c-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In general</inline>.—</heading><content>The Secretary shall designate periods during which any individual may dispose of controlled substances medications at a covered Department medical facility.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y9088bc1d-e816-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Public information campaigns</inline>.—</heading><content>The Secretary may carry out public information campaigns regarding the periods designated under paragraph (1).”</content></paragraph>
