<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d84716e85" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>WEST VALLEY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y17d911ac-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Reauthorization</inline>.—</heading><content>Section 3(a) of the West Valley Demonstration Project Act (<ref href="/us/pl/96/368">Public Law 96–368</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s2021a">42 U.S.C. 2021a note</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>$5,000,000 for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1981</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>$75,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2020 through 2026</quotedText>”.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y17d911ad-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Report</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Not later than 18 months after the date of enactment of this Act, the Comptroller General shall submit to Congress a report that describes—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911ae-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>the volumes, origins, and types of radioactive waste at the Western New York Service Center in West Valley, New York;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911af-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>what options have been identified for disposal of each such type of radioactive waste;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911b0-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>what is known about the costs of, and timeframes for, each such option;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911b1-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/4" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">(4) </num><content>the benefits and challenges of each such option, according to the State of New York and the Department of Energy; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911b2-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/5" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="5">(5) </num><chapeau>as of the date of enactment of this Act—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911b3-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/5/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>how much has been spent on the disposal of radioactive waste associated with the demonstration project prescribed by section 2(a) of the West Valley Demonstration Project Act; and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y17d911b4-e81e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/95/s1/b/5/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>what volumes and types of radioactive waste have been disposed of from the Western New York Service Center.</content></subparagraph>
