<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5ad27ebe-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Alaska Remote Generator Reliability and Protection Act.</p></sidenote>
<section id="d165556e88" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Alaska Remote Generator Reliability and Protection Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d165556e98" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>REVISION OF REGULATIONS REQUIRED.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y5ad2ccdf-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall revise <ref href="/us/cfr/t40/s60.4216/c">section 60.4216(c) of title 40, Code of Federal Regulations</ref> (as in effect on the date of enactment of this Act), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>that was not certified</quotedText>” and all that follows through “<quotedText>compared to engine-out emissions</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>must have that engine certified as meeting at least Tier 3 PM standards</quotedText>”.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y5ad2cce0-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s2/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Emissions and Energy Reliability Study</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5ad2cce1-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Consultation.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5ad2cce2-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Reports.</p></sidenote>Not later than 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, shall submit to the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate and the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives a report assessing options for the Federal Government to assist remote areas in the State of Alaska in meeting the energy needs of those areas in an affordable and reliable manner using—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y5ad2cce3-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s2/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>existing emissions control technology; or<page identifier="/us/stat/133/1119">133 STAT. 1119</page></content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y5ad2cce4-e81f-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/116/62/s2/b/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>other technology that achieves emissions reductions similar to the technology described in paragraph (1).</content></paragraph>
