<section id="d110886e85" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>NUTRIA ERADICATION.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="x5dde8d23-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  The Nutria Eradication and Control Act of 2003 (<ref href="/us/pl/108/16">Public Law 108–16</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d24-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5dde8d25-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t16/s8101">16 USC 8101</ref>.</p></sidenote><chapeau>in section 2—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d26-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><chapeau>in subsection (a)—</chapeau><clause class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d27-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1/A/i" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">(i) </num><content>in paragraph (1), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>Wetlands and tidal marshes of the Chesapeake Bay and in Louisiana</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>Wetlands, tidal marshes, and agricultural lands</quotedText>”;</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d28-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1/A/ii" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="ii">(ii) </num><content>in paragraph (2), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>in Maryland and Louisiana</quotedText>”; and</content></clause>
<clause class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d29-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1/A/iii" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="iii">(iii) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="amend">amending</amendingAction> paragraph (3) to read as follows:<quotedContent><paragraph class="indentDown2 fontsize10" id="y5dde8d2a-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">“(3) </num><content>Traditional harvest methods to control or eradicate nutria have failed. Consequently, marsh loss, loss of public and private wetlands, and loss of agricultural lands are accelerating.”</content></paragraph>

</subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d2b-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/1/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>in subsection (b), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>the State of Maryland and the State of Louisiana</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>any State that has demonstrated the need</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>

<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d2c-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5dde8d2d-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t16/s8102">16 USC 8102</ref>.</p></sidenote><chapeau>in section 3—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5dde8d2e-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="amend">amending</amendingAction> subsection (a) to read as follows:<quotedContent><subsection class="indentDown2 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y5ddeb43f-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">“(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Grant Authority</inline>.—</heading><content>The Secretary of the Interior (referred to in this Act as the ‘Secretary’), may provide financial assistance to a State, in an amount that is in proportion to the total impacted area of such State affected by nutria, that has demonstrated to the Secretary sufficient need for a program to implement measures to eradicate or control nutria and restore marshland, public and private wetlands, and agricultural lands damaged by nutria.”</content></subsection>

<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5ddeb441-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2/C" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">(C) </num><chapeau>in subsection (d)—</chapeau><clause class="fontsize10" id="y5ddeb442-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2/C/i" style="-uslm-lc:I658126"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">(i) </num><content>in paragraph (1), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>the program may</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>a State program referred to in subsection (a) may</quotedText>”; and</content></clause>

<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5ddeb444-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2/D" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="D">(D) </num><content>in subsection (e), by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>to a State</quotedText>” after “<quotedText>provided</quotedText>”;<page identifier="/us/stat/134/902">134 STAT. 902</page></content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y5ddeb445-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/186/s1/2/E" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="E">(E) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x5ddeb446-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Time periods.</p></sidenote><content>in subsection (f), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>$4,000,000</quotedText>” and all that follows and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>$12,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2021 through 2025.</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>
