<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xb8fbbe8a-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Vet Center Eligibility Expansion Act.</p></sidenote>
<section id="d111917e88" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xb8fbe59b-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t38/s101">38 USC 101 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Vet Center Eligibility Expansion Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d111917e103" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>EXPANSION OF VET CENTER SERVICES.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="xb8fc0cac-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  <ref href="/us/usc/t38/s1712A">Section 1712A of title 38, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc0cad-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>clauses (i) through (iv)</quotedText>” both places it appears and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>clauses (i) through (vi)</quotedText>”;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc0cae-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>in clause (v)</quotedText>” both places it appears and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>in clause (vii)</quotedText>”;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc0caf-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><chapeau>in subsection (a)(1)(C)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc0cb0-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/3/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="redesignate">redesignating</amendingAction> clauses (iv) and (v) as clauses (vi) and (vii), respectively; and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc0cb1-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/3/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> after clause (iii) the following new clauses:<quotedContent><clause class="indentDown1 fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c2-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="iv">“(iv) </num><chapeau>Any individual who is a veteran or member of the Armed Forces, including a member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces, who served—</chapeau><subclause class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c3-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="I">“(I) </num><content>on active service in response to a national emergency or major disaster declared by the President; or</content></subclause>
<subclause class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c4-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="II">“(II) </num><content>in the National Guard of a State under orders of the chief executive of that State in response to a disaster or civil disorder in such State.</content></subclause>

<clause class="indentDown1 fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c5-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="v">“(v) </num><content>Any individual who participated in a drug interdiction operation as a member of the Coast Guard, regardless of the location of that operation.”</content></clause>

<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c6-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s2/4" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">(4) </num><content>in subsection (h), by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new paragraphs:<quotedContent><paragraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c7-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">“(4) </num><content>The term ‘<term>active service</term>’ has the meaning given that term in section 101 of title 10.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="yb8fc33c8-e827-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="5">“(5) </num><content>The term ‘<term>civil disorder</term>’ has the meaning given that term in section 232 of title 18.”</content></paragraph>

<section id="d111917e206" identifier="/us/pl/116/176/s3" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading>PLAN TO PROVIDE VET CENTER SERVICES TO VETERANS LIVING IN AREAS WHERE NO VET CENTER IS LOCATED.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  The Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall submit to the Committees on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and House of Representatives a plan to provide Vet Center services to veterans living in <page identifier="/us/stat/134/850">134 STAT. 850</page>
geographic areas where no Vet Center is located, including in the United States insular areas.</content></section>
