<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d137119e85" identifier="/us/pl/115/42/s1" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>STAYS BY MSPB DURING PERIODS WITH NO QUORUM.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="xa4568b74-e82e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  <ref href="/us/usc/t5/s1214/b/1/B">Section 1214(b)(1)(B) of title 5, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya4568b75-e82e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/115/42/s1/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>(i)</quotedText>” before “<quotedText>The Board may</quotedText>”; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya4568b76-e82e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/115/42/s1/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subsection class="indentDown1 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="ya4568b77-e82e-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content>If the Board lacks the number of members appointed under section 1201 required to constitute a quorum, any remaining member of the Board who was appointed, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, may, upon request by the Special Counsel, extend the period of any stay granted under subparagraph (A).”</content></subsection>
