<section id="d278910e88" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e41e74-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1861">42 USC 1861 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Women in Aerospace Education Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d278910e103" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>ROBERT NOYCE TEACHER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y77e46c95-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>The National Science Foundation Authorization Act of 2002 (<ref href="/us/pl/107/368">Public Law 107–368</ref>; <ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1862n/etseq">42 U.S.C. 1862n et seq.</ref>) <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y77e46c96-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in section 10(a)(3)(A)(iv), <sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46c97-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1862n–1">42 USC 1862n–1</ref>.</p></sidenote>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>, including research experiences at national laboratories and NASA centers</quotedText>” before the semicolon; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y77e46c98-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><chapeau>in section 10A(c)(4)—<sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46c99-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">42 USC</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46c9a-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">1862n–1a.</p></sidenote></chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y77e46c9b-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a/2/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>in subparagraph (A), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>and</quotedText>” at the end;</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y77e46c9c-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a/2/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>in subparagraph (B), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> the period at the end and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>; and</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y77e46c9d-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/a/2/C" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">(C) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subparagraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="y77e46c9e-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="C">“(C) </num><content>providing internship opportunities for fellows, including research experiences at national laboratories and NASA Centers.”</content></subparagraph>

</subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y77e46c9f-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s2/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46ca0-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t42/s1862n–1">42 USC 1862n–1 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">Effective Date</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to grants awarded on or after October 1, 2018.</content></subsection>

<section id="d278910e204" identifier="/us/pl/115/303/s3" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46ca1-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Deadline.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x77e46ca2-e833-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t51/s40901">51 USC 40901 note</ref> prec.</p></sidenote><heading>NASA INTERNSHIP AND FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  Not later than October 1, 2018, the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (in this section referred to as “NASA”) shall institute a process to encourage the recruitment of qualified candidates who are women or individuals who are underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and computer science for <page identifier="/us/stat/132/4400">132 STAT. 4400</page>
internships and fellowships at NASA with relevance to the aerospace sector and related fields.</content></section>
