<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d282831e85" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x8c2f788e-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t40/s8903">40 USC 8903 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>AUTHORIZATION TO ESTABLISH COMMEMORATIVE WORK.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6af-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>The National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Foundation may establish a commemorative work on Federal land in the District of Columbia and its environs to commemorate the commitment and service represented by emergency medical services.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b0-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Compliance With Standards for Commemorative Works</inline>.—</heading><content>The establishment of the commemorative work under this section shall be in accordance with <ref href="/us/usc/t40/ch89">chapter 89 of title 40, United States Code</ref> (commonly known as the “Commemorative Works Act”).</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b1-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Prohibition on the Use of Federal Funds</inline>.—</heading><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b2-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/c/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In general</inline>.—</heading><content>Federal funds may not be used to pay any expense of the establishment of the commemorative work under this section.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b3-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/c/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Responsibility of national emergency medical services memorial foundation</inline>.—</heading><content>The National Emergency Medical Services Memorial Foundation shall be solely responsible for acceptance of contributions for, and payment of the expenses of, the establishment of the commemorative work under this section.</content></paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b4-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/d" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="d">(d) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Deposit of Excess Funds</inline>.—</heading><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b5-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/d/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In general</inline>.—</heading><content>If upon payment of all expenses for the establishment of the memorial (including the maintenance and preservation amount required by <ref href="/us/usc/t40/s8906/b/1">section 8906(b)(1) of title 40, United States Code</ref>), there remains a balance of funds received for the establishment of the commemorative work, the Foundation shall transmit the amount of the balance to the Secretary of the Interior for deposit in the account provided for in <ref href="/us/usc/t40/s8906/b/3">section 8906(b)(3) of title 40, United States Code</ref>.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y8c2fc6b6-e834-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/115/275/s1/d/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">On expiration of authority</inline>.—</heading><content>If upon expiration of the authority for the commemorative work under <ref href="/us/usc/t40/s8903/e">section 8903(e) of title 40, United States Code</ref>, there remains a balance of funds received for the establishment of the commemorative work, the Foundation shall transmit the amount of the balance to a separate account with the National Park Foundation for memorials, to be available to the Secretary of the Interior or Administrator (as appropriate) following the process provided in <ref href="/us/usc/t40/s8906/b/4">section 8906(b)(4) of title 40, United States Code</ref>, for accounts <page identifier="/us/stat/132/4165">132 STAT. 4165</page>
established under 8906(b)(2) or (3) of <ref href="/us/usc/t40">title 40, United States Code</ref>.</content></paragraph>
