<section id="d163644e97" identifier="/us/pl/115/158/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Eliminating Government-funded Oil-painting Act</shortTitle>” or the “<shortTitle role="act">EGO Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d163644e110" identifier="/us/pl/115/158/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>PROHIBITION ON USE OF FUNDS FOR PORTRAITS.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="ya81a64df-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/115/158/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content><ref href="/us/usc/t31/ch13/schIII">Subchapter III of chapter 13 of title 31, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><section class="centered fontsize12" id="ya81a8bf0-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658164"><num class="fontsize12" value="1355">“§ 1355.</num><heading class="fontsize12"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xa81a8bf1-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t31/s1355">31 USC 1355</ref>.</p></sidenote> Prohibition on use of funds for portraits</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="ya81a8bf2-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">“(a) </num><content>No funds appropriated or otherwise made available to the Federal Government may be used to pay for the painting of a portrait of an officer or employee of the Federal Government, including the President, the Vice President, a Member of Congress, the head of an executive agency, or the head of an office of the legislative branch.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="ya81a8bf3-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">“(b) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xa81a8bf4-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Definitions.</p></sidenote><chapeau>In this section—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya81a8bf5-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><content>the term ‘<term>executive agency</term>’ has the meaning given the term in section 133 of title 41; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="ya81a8bf6-e838-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><content>the term ‘<term>Member of Congress</term>’ includes a Delegate or Resident Commissioner to Congress.”</content></paragraph>
