<section id="d323399e88" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fabc1be-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s101">5 USC 101 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Wounded Warriors Federal Leave Act of 2015</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d323399e103" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>ADDITIONAL LEAVE FOR FEDERAL EMPLOYEES WHO ARE DISABLED VETERANS.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac0fdf-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content><ref href="/us/usc/t5/ch63/schII">Subchapter II of chapter 63 of title 5, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><section class="centered fontsize12" id="y0fac5e00-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658164"><num class="fontsize12" value="6329">“§ 6329.</num><heading class="fontsize12"> <sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e01-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s6329">5 USC 6329</ref>.</p></sidenote>Disabled veteran leave</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e02-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">“(a) </num><content><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e03-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Time period.</p></sidenote>During the 12-month period beginning on the first day of employment, any employee who is a veteran with a service-connected disability rated at 30 percent or more is entitled to leave, without loss or reduction in pay, for purposes of undergoing medical treatment for such disability for which sick leave could regularly be used.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e04-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">“(b)</num><paragraph class="inline" id="y0fac5e05-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c"><num value="1">(1) </num><content>The leave credited to an employee under subsection (a) may not exceed 104 hours.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e06-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><content>Any leave credited to an employee pursuant to subsection (a) that is not used during the 12-month period described in such subsection may not be carried over and shall be forfeited.</content></paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e07-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">“(c) </num><content><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e08-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Verification.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e09-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Certification.</p></sidenote>In order to verify that leave credited to an employee pursuant to subsection (a) is used for treating a service-connected disability, such employee shall submit to the head of the employing agency certification, in such form and manner as the Director of the Office of Personnel Management may prescribe, that such employee used such leave for purposes of being furnished treatment for such disability by a health care provider.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e0a-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="d">“(d) </num><chapeau><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e0b-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Definitions.</p></sidenote>In this section—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y0fac5e0c-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><content>the term ‘<term>employee</term>’ has the meaning given such term in section 2105, and includes an officer or employee of the United States Postal Service or of the Postal Regulatory Commission;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y0fac5e0d-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><content>the term ‘<term>service-connected</term>’ has the meaning given such term in section 101(16) of title 38; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y0fac5e0e-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">“(3) </num><content>the term ‘<term>veteran</term>’ has the meaning given such term in section 101(2) of such title.”</content></paragraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e12-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2/c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e13-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s6329">5 USC 6329 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">Application</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to any employee (as that term is defined in <ref href="/us/usc/t5/s6329/d/1">section 6329(d)(1) of title 5, United States Code</ref>, as added by subsection (a)) hired on or after the date that is 1 year after the date of enactment of this Act.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y0fac5e14-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2/d" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="d">(d) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e15-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Deadline.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x0fac5e16-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s6329">5 USC 6329 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><inline class="smallCaps">Regulations</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Not later than 9 months after the date of enactment of this Act—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y0fac5e17-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2/d/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>the Director of the Office of Personnel Management shall prescribe regulations with respect to the leave provided by the amendment in subsection (a) for employees, but not including employees of the United States Postal Service or the Postal Regulatory Commission; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y0fac5e18-e844-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/75/s2/d/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>the Postmaster General shall prescribe regulations for such leave with respect to officers and employees of the United States Postal Service and the Postal Regulatory Commission.</content></paragraph>
