<section id="d233528e88" identifier="/us/pl/114/240/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xef971f41-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t36/s101">36 USC 101 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Veterans Day Moment of Silence Act</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d233528e103" identifier="/us/pl/114/240/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>OBSERVANCE OF VETERANS DAY.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yef974652-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/240/s2/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Two Minutes of Silence</inline>.—</heading><content><ref href="/us/usc/t36/ch1">Chapter 1 of title 36, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new section:<quotedContent><section class="centered fontsize12" id="yef976d63-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658163"><num class="fontsize12" value="145">“§ 145.</num><heading class="fontsize12"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xef976d64-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">President.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xef976d65-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Proclamation.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xef976d66-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t36/s145">36 USC 145</ref>.</p></sidenote> Veterans Day</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="xef976d67-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  “The President shall issue each year a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe two minutes of silence on Veterans Day in honor of the service and sacrifice of veterans throughout the history of the Nation, beginning at—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d68-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><content>3:11 p.m. Atlantic standard time;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d69-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><content>2:11 p.m. eastern standard time;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d6a-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">“(3) </num><content>1:11 p.m. central standard time;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d6b-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">“(4) </num><content>12:11 p.m. mountain standard time;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d6c-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="5">“(5) </num><content>11:11 a.m. Pacific standard time;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yef976d6d-e858-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="6">“(6) </num><content>10:11 a.m. Alaska standard time; and</content></paragraph>
