<section id="d235553e85" identifier="/us/pl/114/227/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658172"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>AUTHORITY OF THE AMERICAN BATTLE MONUMENTS COMMISSION TO ACQUIRE, OPERATE, AND MAINTAIN THE LAFAYETTE ESCADRILLE MEMORIAL.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y18ee3e98-e85b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/227/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content><ref href="/us/usc/t36/ch21">Chapter 21 of title 36, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new section:<quotedContent><section class="indentUp3 firstIndent-3 fontsize10" id="y18ee65a9-e85b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658175"><num class="fontsize10 bold" value="2115">“§ 2115.</num><heading class="fontsize10 bold"> <sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x18ee65aa-e85b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t36/s2115">36 USC 2115</ref>.</p></sidenote>Acquisition, operation, and maintenance of Lafayette Escadrille Memorial</heading><content class="indentDown3 firstIndent0 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  “The American Battle Monuments Commission may enter into an agreement with the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial Foundation to acquire, operate, and maintain the Lafayette Escadrille Memorial in Marnes-la-Coquette, France. Under such an agreement, the Commission shall make necessary arrangements to ensure the ongoing maintenance of the memorial, including the cemetery at the memorial that contains the remains of 49 aviators of the United States who died during World War I.”</content></section>
