<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d244867e85" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>CONGRESSIONAL CHARTER OF DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yac1a3acb-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Purposes</inline>.—</heading><chapeau><ref href="/us/usc/t36/s50302">Section 50302 of title 36, United States Code</ref>, <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yac1a3acc-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/a/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>in the matter preceding paragraph (1), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>The purposes of the corporation are—</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> “<quotedText>The corporation is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The purposes of the corporation shall include—</quotedText>”;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yac1a3acd-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/a/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>in paragraph (6), by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>and</quotedText>” at the end;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yac1a3ace-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/a/3" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="3">(3) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="redesignate">redesignating</amendingAction> paragraph (7) as paragraph (9); and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yac1a3acf-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/a/4" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="4">(4) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> after paragraph (6) the following new paragraphs:<quotedContent><paragraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="yac1a61e0-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="7">“(7) </num><content>to educate the public about the sacrifices and needs of disabled veterans;</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="indentUp0 fontsize10" id="yac1a61e1-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="8">“(8) </num><content>to educate disabled veterans about the benefits and resources available to them; and”</content></paragraph>

</subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yac1a61e2-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/114/135/s1/b" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Dissolution</inline>.—</heading><content>Chapter 503 of such title <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following new section:<quotedContent><section class="centered fontsize12" id="yac1a61e3-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658165"><num class="fontsize12" value="50309">“§ 50309.</num><heading class="fontsize12"><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xac1a61e4-e86b-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t36/s50309">36 USC 50309</ref>.</p></sidenote> Dissolution</heading><content class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  “On dissolution or final liquidation of the corporation, any assets remaining after the discharge or satisfactory provision for the discharge of all liabilities shall be transferred to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the care of disabled veterans.”</content></section>
