<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula>
<section id="d340856e85" identifier="/us/pl/114/13/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>CLARIFICATION OF EFFECTIVE DATE OF CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF THE BORDER PATROL AGENT PAY REFORM ACT OF 2014.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y96ec83e0-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/13/s1/a" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Section 2 of the Border Patrol Agent Pay Reform Act of 2014 (<ref href="/us/pl/113/277">Public Law 113–277</ref>)<sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x96ec83e1-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s5542">5 USC 5542 note</ref>.</p></sidenote> <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction> by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y96ec83e2-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="i">“(i) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Effective Date</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>Subsections (b), (c), (d), and (g), and the amendments made by such subsections, shall take effect on the first day of the first pay period beginning on or after January 1, 2016, except that—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y96ecaaf3-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><content>any provision in <ref href="/us/usc/t5/s5550/b">section 5550(b) of title 5, United States Code</ref>, as added by subsection (b), relating to administering elections and making advance assignments to a regular tour of duty shall be applicable before such effective date to the extent determined necessary by the Director of the Office of Personnel Management; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y96ecaaf4-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><content>the Director may issue regulations as necessary prior to such effective date.”</content></paragraph>

<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y96ecaaf5-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" identifier="/us/pl/114/13/s1/b" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x96ecaaf6-e86c-11f0-bc57-ad3ac4b1618c" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t5/s5542">5 USC 5542 note</ref>.</p></sidenote><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Application</inline>.—</heading><content>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall be deemed to have been enacted on the date of enactment of the Border Patrol Agent Pay Reform Act of 2014 (<ref href="/us/pl/113/277">Public Law 113–277</ref>).</content></subsection>
