<enactingFormula style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><i>  Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa­tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</i></enactingFormula><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xf013f1f9-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation Act of 2014.</p></sidenote>
<section id="d251936e88" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Home Heating Emergency Assistance Through Transportation Act of 2014</shortTitle>” or the “<shortTitle role="act">HHEATT Act of 2014</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d251936e101" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>PROPANE AND HOME HEATING FUEL EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION.</heading><subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yf014401a-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2/a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="a">(a) </num><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xf014401b-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Termination date.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xf014401c-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Consultation.</p><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="xf014401d-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180">Determination.</p></sidenote><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In General</inline>.—</heading><content>Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a covered emergency exemption issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration shall remain in effect until May 31, 2014, unless the Secretary of Transportation, after consultation with the Governors of affected States, determines that the emergency for which the exemption was provided ends before that date.</content></subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yf014401e-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2/b" role="definitions" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="b">(b) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Covered Emergency Exemption Defined</inline>.—</heading><chapeau>In this section, the term “<term>covered emergency exemption</term>” means an exemption issued under <ref href="/us/cfr/t49/s390.23">section 390.23 of title 49, Code of Federal Regulations</ref>, or extended under section 390.25 of such title that—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yf014401f-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2/b/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><content>was issued or extended during the period beginning on February 5, 2014, and ending on the date of enactment of this Act; and</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="yf0144020-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2/b/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>provided regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicle operations providing direct assistance supporting the delivery of propane and home heating fuels.</content></paragraph>
</subsection>
<subsection class="firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="yf0144021-e872-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/90/s2/c" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Rule of Construction</inline>.—</heading><content>Nothing in subsection (a) may be construed to prohibit the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration from issuing or extending a covered emergency exemption beyond May 31, 2014, under other Federal law.</content></subsection>
