<section id="d300916e92" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s1" style="-uslm-lc:I658146"><num class="bold" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><heading>SHORT TITLE.</heading><content style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle role="act">Gold Medal Technical Corrections Act of 2014</shortTitle>”.</content></section>
<section id="d300916e102" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s2" role="instruction" style="-uslm-lc:I658141"><num class="fontsize12" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading>TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS TO AN ACT THAT AUTHORIZES PRESENTATION OF A CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL TO DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR., AND CORETTA SCOTT KING.</heading><chapeau class="indentUp0 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="x19343ee5-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120">  <ref href="/us/pl/108/368/s2">Section 2 of Public Law 108–368</ref><sidenote><p class="leftAlign firstIndent0 fontsize8" id="x19343ee6-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658180"><ref href="/us/usc/t31/s5111">31 USC 5111 note</ref>.</p></sidenote> <amendingAction type="amend">is amended</amendingAction>—</chapeau><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y19343ee7-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s2/1" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau>in subsection (a)—</chapeau><subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y19343ee8-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s2/1/A" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="A">(A) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> all before “<quotedText>to present</quotedText>” and <amendingAction type="insert">inserting</amendingAction> the following: “<quotedText>(a)<headingText class="smallCaps"> Presentation Authorized.—</headingText>The Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate are authorized</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>
<subparagraph class="fontsize10" id="y19343ee9-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s2/1/B" style="-uslm-lc:I658124"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="B">(B) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="delete">striking</amendingAction> “<quotedText>(posthumously)</quotedText>”; and</content></subparagraph>

<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y19343eea-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" identifier="/us/pl/113/118/s2/2" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">(2) </num><content>by <amendingAction type="add">adding</amendingAction> at the end the following:<quotedContent><subsection class="indentDown1 firstIndent0 fontsize10" id="y193465fb-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658120"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="c">“(c) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Smithsonian Institution</inline>.—</heading><paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y193465fc-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="1">“(1) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">In general</inline>.—</heading><content>Following the award of the gold medal in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King under subsection (a), the gold medal shall be given to the Smithsonian Institution, where it shall be available for display as appropriate and made available for research.</content></paragraph>
<paragraph class="fontsize10" id="y193465fd-e899-11f0-a1e4-69761a48a15a" style="-uslm-lc:I658122"><num class="fontsize10" style="-uslm-lc:emspace2" value="2">“(2) </num><heading class="fontsize10"><inline class="smallCaps">Sense of congress</inline>.—</heading><content>It is the sense of Congress that the Smithsonian Institution shall make the gold medal received under paragraph (1) available for display, particularly at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, or for loan as appropriate so that it may be displayed elsewhere, particularly at other appropriate locations associated with the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Coretta Scott King.”</content></paragraph>
