 (c)3 The compensation of Architect of the Capitol shall be at an annual rate which is equal to the rate for positions at level IV of such Executive Schedule.43

Subsec. (c) originally provided that: “The compensation of the General Counsel of the United States General Accounting Office, the Librarian of Congress, the Public Printer, and the Architect of the Capitol shall be at the rate of $27,000 per annum.”. Subsec. (c) was subsequently amended (as provided above) and superseded. For compensation of:

(1) General Counsel of the General Accounting Office, see 31 U.S.C. 731(c).

(2) Librarian of Congress, see 2 U.S.C. 136a–2.

Section 129(a) of Public Law 107–68 (115 Stat. 579) attempted to amend subsection (c) by striking “the annual rate of basic pay” and all that follows and inserting the following: “the lesser of the annual salary for the Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives or the annual salary for the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper of the Senate.”. However, the amendment could not be executed because the language purported to be struck does not appear.

 (d)5 The compensation of the Deputy Librarian of Congress and the Assistant Architect of the Capitol shall be at an annual rate which is equal to the rate for positions at level V of such Executive Schedule.5

Subsec. (d) originally provided that: “The compensation of the Deputy Librarian of Congress, the Deputy Public Printer, and the Assistant Architect of the Capitol shall be at the rate of $25,500 per annum.”. Subsec. (d) was subsequently amended (as provided above) and superseded. For compensation of:

 (e)6 The compensation of the Second Assistant Architect of the Capitol shall be at the rate of $25,000 per annum.6
