    <main style="-uslm-dtd:legis-body"><longTitle><docTitle style="-uslm-dtd:legis-type">AN ACT</docTitle><officialTitle style="-uslm-dtd:official-title">To reauthorize certain provisions of the Public Health Service Act relating to autism, and for other purposes.</officialTitle></longTitle><enactingFormula style="-uslm-dtd:enacting-clause">Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,</enactingFormula>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s1" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">SECTION 1. </num><editorialNote style="-uslm-dtd:usc-reference" role="uscRef"><b>[</b><ref href="/us/usc/t42/s201">42 U.S.C. 201 note</ref><b>]</b> </editorialNote><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">SHORT TITLE. </heading>
            <content style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">This Act may be cited as the “<shortTitle style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support Act of 2014</shortTitle>” or the “<shortTitle style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Autism CARES Act of 2014</shortTitle>”.</content>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s2" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">SEC. 2. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">NATIONAL AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER INITIATIVE. </heading>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s2/a" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="a">(a) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">In general.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The Secretary of Health and Human Services shall designate an existing official within the Department of Health and Human Services to oversee, in consultation with the Secretaries of Defense and Education, national autism spectrum disorder research, services, and support activities.</content>
            </subsection>
            <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s2/b" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">(b) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Duties.—</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">The official designated under subsection (a) shall—</chapeau>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s2/b/1" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">implement autism spectrum disorder activities, taking into account the strategic plan developed by the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee under section 399CC(b) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 280i-2(b)); and</content>
                </paragraph>
                <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s2/b/2" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">ensure that autism spectrum disorder activities of the Department of Health and Human Services and of other Federal departments and agencies are not unnecessarily duplicative.</content>
                </paragraph>
            </subsection>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">SEC. 3. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">RESEARCH PROGRAM. </heading>
            <chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">Section 399AA of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 280i) is amended—</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (a)(1), by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">for children and adults</quotedText>” after “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">reporting of State epidemiological data</quotedText>”;</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/2" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (b)(1)—</chapeau>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/2/A" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">(A) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">establishment of regional centers of excellence</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">establishment or support of regional centers of excellence</quotedText>”; and</content>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/2/B" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">(B) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">for children and adults</quotedText>” before the period at the end;</content>
                </subparagraph>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/3" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">(3) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (b)(2), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">center to be established</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">center to be established or supported</quotedText>”; and</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s3/4" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="4">(4) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (e), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">2014</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">2019</quotedText>”.</content>
            </paragraph>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="4">SEC. 4. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">AUTISM INTERVENTION. </heading>
            <chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">Section 399BB of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 280i-1) is amended—</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (b)(1), by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">culturally competent</quotedText>” after “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">provide</quotedText>”;</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4/2" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (c)(2)(A)(ii), by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">(which may include respite care for caregivers of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder)</quotedText>” after “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">services and supports</quotedText>”;</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4/3" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">(3) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (e)(1)(B)(v), by inserting before the semicolon the following: “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">, which may include collaborating with research centers or networks to provide training for providers of respite care (as defined in section 2901)</quotedText>”;</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4/4" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="4">(4) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (f), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">grants or contracts</quotedText>” and all that follows through “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">for individuals with</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">grants or contracts, which may include grants or contracts to research centers or networks, to determine the evidence-based practices for interventions to improve the physical and behavioral health of individuals with</quotedText>”; and</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s4/5" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="5">(5) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (g), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">2014</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">2019</quotedText>”.</content>
            </paragraph>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="5">SEC. 5. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">INTERAGENCY AUTISM COORDINATING COMMITTEE. </heading>
            <chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">Section 399CC of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 280i-2) is amended—</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (b)—</chapeau>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/A" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">(A) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in paragraph (1)—</chapeau>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/A/i" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">and annually update</quotedText>”; and</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/A/ii" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">(ii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">intervention</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">interventions, including school and community-based interventions</quotedText>”;</content>
                    </clause>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/B" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">(B) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking paragraph (2);</content>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/C" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="C">(C) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by redesignating paragraph (1) as paragraph (2), and inserting before such redesignated paragraph the following:<quotedContent style="-uslm-dtd:quoted-block">
                    <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">“(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">monitor autism spectrum disorder research, and to the extent practicable services and support activities, across all relevant Federal departments and agencies, including coordination of Federal activities with respect to autism spectrum disorder;”</content>
                    </paragraph></quotedContent>;</content>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/D" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="D">(D) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in paragraph (3), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">recommendations to the Director of NIH</quotedText>”;</content>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/E" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="E">(E) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in paragraph (4), by inserting before the semicolon the following: “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">, and the process by which public feedback can be better integrated into such decisions</quotedText>”; and</content>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/1/F" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="F">(F) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking paragraphs (5) and (6) and inserting the following:<quotedContent style="-uslm-dtd:quoted-block">
                    <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="5">“(5) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">develop a strategic plan for the conduct of, and support for, autism spectrum disorder research, including as practicable for services and supports, for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder and the families of such individuals, which shall include—</chapeau>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">“(A) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">proposed budgetary requirements; and</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">“(B) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">recommendations to ensure that autism spectrum disorder research, and services and support activities to the extent practicable, of the Department of Health and Human Services and of other Federal departments and agencies are not unnecessarily duplicative; and</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                    </paragraph>
                    <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="6">“(6) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">submit to Congress and the President—</chapeau>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">“(A) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">an annual update on the summary of advances described in paragraph (2); and</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">“(B) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">an annual update to the strategic plan described in paragraph (5), including any progress made in achieving the goals outlined in such strategic plan.”</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                    </paragraph></quotedContent>;</content>
                </subparagraph>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">(2) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (c)—</chapeau>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">(A) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in paragraph (1)—</chapeau>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/i" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking the paragraph designation, the heading, and the matter preceding subparagraph (A) and inserting the following:<quotedContent style="-uslm-dtd:quoted-block">
                        <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">“(1) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Federal membership.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">The Committee shall be composed of the following Federal members—”</content>
                        </paragraph></quotedContent>;</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/ii" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">(ii) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subparagraph (C)—</chapeau>
                        <subclause style="-uslm-dtd:subclause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/ii/I" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="I">(I) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">, such as the Administration for Community Living, Administration for Children and Families, the Centers for Medicare &amp; Medicaid Services, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Health Resources and Services Administration</quotedText>” before the semicolon at the end; and</content>
                        </subclause>
                        <subclause style="-uslm-dtd:subclause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/ii/II" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="II">(II) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by adding at the end “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">and</quotedText>”;</content>
                        </subclause>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/iii" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iii">(iii) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subparagraph (D)—</chapeau>
                        <subclause style="-uslm-dtd:subclause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/iii/I" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="I">(I) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">and the Department of Defense</quotedText>” after “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Department of Education</quotedText>”; and</content>
                        </subclause>
                        <subclause style="-uslm-dtd:subclause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/iii/II" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="II">(II) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking at the end “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">; and</quotedText>” and inserting a period; and</content>
                        </subclause>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/A/iv" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iv">(iv) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by striking subparagraph (E);</content>
                    </clause>
                </subparagraph>
                <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">(B) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">in paragraph (2)—</chapeau>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B/i" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in the paragraph heading, by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote"><headingText style="-uslm-dtd:header-in-text">Additional</headingText></quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote"><headingText style="-uslm-dtd:header-in-text">Non-federal</headingText></quotedText>”;</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B/ii" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">(ii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in the matter preceding subparagraph (A), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Not fewer than 6 members of the Committee, or ⅓ of the total membership of the Committee, whichever is greater</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">Not more than ½, but not fewer than ⅓, of the total membership of the Committee</quotedText>”;</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B/iii" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iii">(iii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subparagraph (A), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">one such member shall be an individual</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">two such members shall be individuals</quotedText>”;</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B/iv" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iv">(iv) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subparagraph (B), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">one such member shall be a parent or legal guardian</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">two such members shall be parents or legal guardians</quotedText>”; and</content>
                    </clause>
                    <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s5/2/B/v" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="v">(v) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subparagraph (C), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">one such member shall be a representative</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">two such members shall be representatives</quotedText>”; and</content>

                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="3">“(3) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Period of appointment; vacancies.—</heading>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">“(A) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Period of appointment for non-federal members.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Non-Federal members shall serve for a term of 4 years, and may be reappointed for one or more additional 4-year terms.</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">“(B) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Vacancies.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">A vacancy on the Committee shall be filled in the manner in which the original appointment was made and shall not affect the powers or duties of the Committee. Any member appointed to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term shall be appointed for the remainder of such term. A member may serve after the expiration  of the member’s term until a successor has been appointed.”</content>

                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="7">(7) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">by adding at the end the following new subsection:<quotedContent style="-uslm-dtd:quoted-block">
                <subsection style="-uslm-dtd:subsection" styleType="OLC">
                    <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="b">“(b) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Report on Young Adults and Transitioning Youth.—</heading>
                    <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">“(1) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">In General.—</heading><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">Not later than 2 years after the date of enactment of the Autism CARES Act of 2014, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in coordination with the Secretary of Education and in collaboration with the Secretary of Transportation, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and the Attorney General, shall prepare and submit to the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions of the Senate and the Committee on Energy and Commerce of the House of Representatives, a report concerning young adults with autism spectrum disorder and the challenges related to the transition from existing school-based services to those services available during adulthood.</content>
                    </paragraph>
                    <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" styleType="OLC">
                        <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="2">“(2) </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">Contents.—</heading><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">The report submitted under paragraph (1) shall contain—</chapeau>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="A">“(A) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">demographic characteristics of youth transitioning from school-based to community-based supports;</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="B">“(B) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">an overview of policies and programs relevant to young adults with autism spectrum disorder relating to post-secondary school transitional services, including an identification of existing Federal laws, regulations, policies, research, and programs;</content>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="C">“(C) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">proposals on establishing best practices guidelines to ensure—</chapeau>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">“(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">interdisciplinary coordination between all relevant service providers receiving Federal funding;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">coordination with transitioning youth and the family of such transitioning youth; and</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iii">“(iii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">inclusion of the individualized education program for the transitioning youth, as prescribed in section 614 of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (20 U.S.C. 1414);</content>
                            </clause>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="D">“(D) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">comprehensive approaches to transitioning from existing school-based services to those services available during adulthood, including—</chapeau>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">“(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">services that increase access to, and improve integration and completion of, post-secondary education, peer support, vocational training (as defined in section 103 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 723)), rehabilitation, self-advocacy skills, and competitive, integrated employment;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">community-based behavioral supports and interventions;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iii">“(iii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">community-based integrated residential services, housing, and transportation;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iv">“(iv) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">nutrition, health and wellness, recreational, and social activities;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="v">“(v) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">personal safety services for individuals with autism spectrum disorder related to public safety agencies or the criminal justice system; and</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="vi">“(vi) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">evidence-based approaches for coordination of resources and services once individuals have aged out of post-secondary education; and</content>
                            </clause>
                        </subparagraph>
                        <subparagraph style="-uslm-dtd:subparagraph" styleType="OLC">
                            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="E">“(E) </num><chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text">proposals that seek to improve outcomes for adults with autism spectrum disorder making the transition from a school-based support system to adulthood by—</chapeau>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="i">“(i) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">increasing the effectiveness of programs that provide transition services;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="ii">“(ii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">increasing the ability of the relevant service providers described in subparagraph (C) to provide supports and services to underserved populations and regions;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iii">“(iii) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">increasing the efficiency of service delivery to maximize resources and outcomes, including with respect to the integration of and collaboration among services for transitioning youth;</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="iv">“(iv) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">ensuring access to all services necessary to transitioning youth of all capabilities; and</content>
                            </clause>
                            <clause style="-uslm-dtd:clause" styleType="OLC">
                                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="v">“(v) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">encouraging transitioning youth to utilize all available transition services to maximize independence, equal opportunity, full participation, and self-sufficiency.”</content>
                            </clause>
                        </subparagraph>
                    </paragraph>
                </subsection></quotedContent>.</content>
            </paragraph>
        </section>
        <section style="-uslm-dtd:section" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s7" styleType="OLC">
            <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="7">SEC. 7. </num><heading style="-uslm-dtd:header">AUTHORIZATION OF APPROPRIATIONS. </heading>
            <chapeau style="-uslm-dtd:text" class="block">Section 399EE of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 280i-4) is amended—</chapeau>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s7/1" styleType="OLC">
                <num style="-uslm-dtd:enum" value="1">(1) </num><content style="-uslm-dtd:text">in subsection (a), by striking “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">fiscal years 2012 through 2014</quotedText>” and inserting “<quotedText style="-uslm-dtd:quote">fiscal years 2015 through 2019</quotedText>”;</content>
            </paragraph>
            <paragraph style="-uslm-dtd:paragraph" identifier="/us/sComp/113/157/s7/2" styleType="OLC">
