2024-12-03 Introduced in Senate This resolution recognizes the 40-year effort of the survivors of the 1984 Bhopal chemical disaster to ensure no other communities suffer a similar disaster by designating December 3 as National Chemical Disaster Awareness Day. Further, the resolution calls on the Department of Justice to take (1) steps in response to requests by the Indian government concerning Dow Inc.; and (2) any other actions necessary to comply with obligations under the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters, signed at New Delhi on October 17, 2001.
