            <summary-text><![CDATA[ <p><strong>The Consumer Protection and Due Process Act</strong></p> <p>This bill permits the Federal Trade Commission to seek, and courts to order, certain types of equitable remedies in suits to enforce the laws within the commission's jurisdiction. Available remedies include restitution, contract rescission, and disgorgement.</p> <p>It also permits the Department of Justice to bring civil actions for violations of antitrust laws on behalf of U.S. residents.</p>]]></summary-text>
