<summary-text><![CDATA[<p><b>Protecting Our Gold Star Families' Education Act of 2019</b></p> <p>This bill requires the Department of Education to expand the Pell Grant program to include grants for the dependents (including independent students) of a veteran who died serving on active duty as a member of the Armed Forces in Iraq or Afghanistan on or after September 11, 2001. To qualify for assistance, the dependents must be less than 33 years of age. </p> <p>Pell Grant rules pertaining to the determination of financial need do not apply to the grants awarded by this bill for veterans' dependents. </p>]]></summary-text>
