<summary-text><![CDATA[<p><b>Status of the Sixth Amendment Act of 2019</b></p> <p>This bill establishes a new reporting requirement for a state that receives a grant through the Office of Justice Programs within the Department of Justice. </p> <p>Specifically, a state must report certain information with respect to the legal representation of defendants in prosecutions for offenses in the following categories: (1) criminal offenses punishable by a prison term of more than one year; (2) criminal offenses punishable by a prison term of one year or less, including misdemeanors, traffic, and municipal violations; and (3) acts of juvenile delinquency punishable by a term of detention. </p>]]></summary-text>
