<title>Reach Every Mother and Child Act of 2017</title>

<summary-text><![CDATA[<p><strong>Reach Every Mother and Child Act of 2017</strong></p> <p>This bill directs the President to: </p> <ul> <li>establish a five-year strategy to achieve, with target countries and donors, the goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths globally and ensure healthy and productive lives by 2030; and </li> <li>provide assistance to implement the strategy.</li> </ul> <p>The President shall designate a current U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) employee serving in the Senior Executive Service or at the level of a Deputy Assistant Administrator or higher to serve concurrently as the Maternal and Child Survival Coordinator, who shall be responsible for: </p> <ul> <li>overseeing such strategy, and </li> <li>all U.S. government funds appropriated or used for international maternal and child health and nutrition programs. </li> </ul> <p> Strategy grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements shall include targets for increased implementation of high-impact, evidence-based interventions and strengthening health systems.</p> <p> The President shall report to Congress annually for six years regarding progress made toward achieving the strategy and ending preventable child and maternal deaths.</p>]]></summary-text>
