Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the United States should continue to authorize cash flow financing to Egypt and expand other areas of cooperation. 2017-02-09 Introduced in House Declares that the House of Representatives:

  • reaffirms its commitment to the U.S.-Egypt alliance and to the importance of the United States providing a $10 billion loan guarantee for five years,
  • sends its thoughts and prayers to the victims of terrorism in Egypt,
  • stands with the people and the government of Egypt in the face of terrorism,
  • stresses the importance of continuing to provide Egypt with the current levels of military assistance, and
  • supports greater academic cooperation between the United States and Egypt.

Calls for:

  • an increase to pre-FY2009 levels of U.S. economic aid to Egypt;
  • the President to reinstate cash flow financing to Egypt in 2018 and afterwards; and
  • the expansion of the Qualified Industrial Zones Program.
