<summary-text><![CDATA[<p><b>Know Your Vets Act</b></p> <p>This bill directs the Department of Defense (DOD) to: </p> <ul> <li>ensure that a separating or retiring member of the Armed Forces may elect to have DOD form DD-214 transmitted to the appropriate county veterans service officers who are county, local, or tribal employees who assist veterans with Department of Veterans Affairs interactions; and </li> <li>maintain a database of all such officers.</li> </ul> <p>Form DD 214 contains a member's record of service and information that may be used for veteran's benefits, retirement, employment, and veteran's organization membership.</p>]]></summary-text>
