Classified Information Protection Act of 2017 2017-07-27 Introduced in House Classified Information Protection Act of 2017

This bill amends the federal criminal code to make it a crime for an authorized person to knowingly and willingly disclose (or attempt to disclose) classified information to an unauthorized person, knowing that the person is unauthorized to access such classified information.

A violator is subject to criminal penalties—a fine, a prison term of up to three years, or both.
