<summary-text><![CDATA[<p>Recognizes: (1) the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations (U.N.), and (2) the critical role it plays in maintaining international peace.</p> <p> Applauds the U.N. for: (1) its leadership in addressing global health crises, including the global fight against HIV/AIDS; and (2) its response to humanitarian crises, which resulted in escalation of displacements in countries such as Syria, Iraq, South Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria, Liberia, and Cote d'Ivoire. </p> <p>Commends the U.N. for its commitment to eradicating poverty and hunger. </p> <p>Urges the President to issue a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe the 70th anniversary of the U.N. with appropriate activities.</p>]]></summary-text>
