<summary-text><![CDATA[<p>Save Our Soldiers' Lungs Act - Includes within the definition of "covered waste" for purposes of the Department of Defense (DOD) prohibition against disposal of certain waste in open-air burn pits:</p> <ul> <li>tires;</li> <li>treated wood;</li> <li>batteries;</li> <li>plastics, except insignificant amounts of plastic remaining after a good-faith effort to remove or recover plastic materials from the solid waste stream;</li> <li>munitions and explosives;</li> <li>compressed gas cylinders, unless empty with valves removed;</li> <li>fuel containers, unless completely evacuated of contents;</li> <li>aerosol cans;</li> <li>polychlorinated biphenyls;</li> <li>petroleum, oils, and lubricants products (other than waste fuel for initial combustion);</li> <li>asbestos;</li> <li>mercury;</li> <li>foam tent material; and </li> <li>any item containing any of such materials. </li> </ul> <UL> </UL>]]></summary-text>
