<summary-text><![CDATA[<p>Authorization for Use of Military Force Against the Organization Called the Islamic State - Authorizes the President to use appropriate force against the threat posed by the organization called the Islamic State (IS), formally known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), as well as any successor organization. </p> <p>States that this resolution is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization pursuant to section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.</p> <p>Directs the President to report to Congress setting forth: (1) U.S. strategy to defeat IS or any successor organization; and (2) every 90 days thereafter, a description and assessment of such strategy's implementation.</p>]]></summary-text>
