This bill applies to the Smithsonian Institution the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, the Privacy Act, current law relating to open meetings of government agencies, and the Federal Advisory Committee Act.

This Act shall apply to all actions taken by the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution or by any officer or employee, any records created, and any meetings held before, on, or after the enactment of this Act.

(Sec. 2) This bill applies to the Smithsonian Institution the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the Privacy Act, and current law relating to open meetings of government agencies.

(Sec. 3) This bill shall apply:

  • with respect to the FOIA and the Privacy Act, to any records created by the Smithsonian Institution before, on, or after the enactment of this bill; and
  • with respect to current law relating to open meetings of government agencies, to any meetings held by the Smithsonian Institution on or after the enactment of this bill.
