Social Security Spouse Protection Act of 2003 Display Title Social Security Spouse Protection Act of 2003 Official Title as Introduced To amend title II of the Social Security Act to allow the Commissioner of Social Security reasonable discretion in applying the 10-year marriage requirement for entitlement of divorced spouses to spousal benefits in cases in which the divorce is in whole or in part the result of severe spousal or child abuse.
